Ramadan timings

Stop eating by 5:27 am; break the fast at 5:14 pm. That is about 11 hours and 47 minutes on today's times. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.

How the day runs in Schwalmtal

It starts in the dark, with Fajr at 5:27 am. The sun appears at 7:22 am, which ends the Fajr period. Dhuhr 12:19 pm, Asr 3:26 pm — the two that carry the middle of the day. Maghrib is prayed at 5:14 pm as the light goes, then Isha at 6:44 pm. Sunrise to sunset, today runs about 9 hours and 52 minutes.

Method and madhab

These times follow Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.

Other Germany timetables

Germany has 36 other cities covered on this site. It is worth switching to the right one when you travel — a few hundred kilometres east or west moves Fajr and Maghrib by a noticeable margin.

Season by season in Schwalmtal

There is a caveat to the summer timetable in Schwalmtal. For several weeks around the solstice the sun does not dip deep enough for a true Fajr or Isha, and the calculated values become estimates. Local scholarly guidance takes over in that period.
