Prayer Times in Aliança, Brazil

The prayer day in Aliança

There are around 12 hours and 23 minutes between sunrise and sunset in Aliança today. Prayer times are anchored to the sun rather than the clock, so as that figure grows and shrinks across the year, every time below moves with it.

The yearly swing

Near the equator the timetable is remarkably stable. Aliança sees close to twelve hours of daylight in every month, so Fajr and Maghrib move by minutes rather than hours across the year.

How the day runs in Aliança

Fajr opens the day at 3:39 am, well before first light. The sun appears at 4:53 am, which ends the Fajr period. After the sun peaks, Dhuhr is prayed at 11:05 am, and Asr at 3:28 pm. Maghrib comes with sunset at 5:16 pm, and Isha closes the day at 6:46 pm. Around 12 hours and 23 minutes of daylight, all told.

Fasting hours

The fasting day here runs 3:39 am to 5:16 pm: suhoor closes at the first, iftar comes at the second. Today it works out to some 13 hours and 37 minutes. The monthly table further down shows the window widening or narrowing day by day, which helps when planning meals a week ahead.

A note on the method used

Calculations come from Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Where two calculations disagree it is nearly always Fajr or Isha: those depend on twilight, and twilight is a judgement call. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. Local practice wins over any website, this one included.

Which way to face in Aliança

The qibla from here runs east-north-east, a bearing of about 66°. Makkah is around 8,792 kilometres (5,463 miles) away in a straight line.

The clock against the sun

The sun reaches its high point roughly 55 minutes before noon here. That is why Dhuhr sits at 11:05 am rather than just past midday, and it carries through to Asr, Maghrib and Isha as well. It is not an error — timezones are drawn for administrative convenience, not astronomical accuracy.
