Prayer Times in Ribeirão do Pinhal, Brazil

Ribeirão do Pinhal, hour by hour

Ribeirão do Pinhal, Brazil gets its own calculation here, run from the coordinates 23.42° S, 50.35° W rather than borrowed from a larger city nearby. It is a small distinction that matters in practice: the sun does not arrive everywhere in a country at once.

The night in between

From Isha to Fajr is around 8 hours and 11 minutes at the moment. For anyone praying tahajjud, the last third of that period is the part traditionally singled out — work back from Fajr rather than forward from Isha to find it.

Why your mosque may differ slightly

The underlying method is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Where two calculations disagree it is nearly always Fajr or Isha: those depend on twilight, and twilight is a judgement call. Asr here follows the Hanafi reckoning, which places it noticeably later in the afternoon than the other schools would. Local practice wins over any website, this one included.

The shape of the day

Fajr opens the day at 4:15 am, well before first light. The sun appears at 5:37 am, which ends the Fajr period. Next is Dhuhr at 12:05 pm, then Asr in the afternoon at 4:40 pm. Maghrib comes with sunset at 6:34 pm, and Isha closes the day at 8:04 pm. Around 12 hours and 57 minutes of daylight, all told.

Which way to face in Ribeirão do Pinhal

The qibla from here runs east-north-east, a bearing of about 70°. That puts the Kaaba roughly 10,953 km — 6,806 miles — from here. Compass apps usually read magnetic north rather than true north, so allow a few degrees of local declination if you are setting a prayer mat precisely.

If you are fasting

The fasting day here runs 4:15 am to 6:34 pm: suhoor closes at the first, iftar comes at the second. Today it works out to some 14 hours and 19 minutes. The full month is listed below if you want to see where the fast is heading.

Through the year

Across the year the Ribeirão do Pinhal timetable shifts by an hour or two at each end — long summer evenings push Isha back, short winter days crowd Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib together.
