Where these times come from

Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah is the standard applied to this page. Methods differ mainly over Fajr and Isha, because each authority settles on a slightly different angle of the sun below the horizon — a few minutes either way is normal. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. Where your local mosque differs, follow the mosque — that is the timetable the congregation keeps.

From Fajr to Isha

The day's first prayer, Fajr, falls at 4:24 am. The window stays open until sunrise, 5:37 am. After the sun peaks, Dhuhr is prayed at 11:44 am, and Asr at 4:06 pm. The sun goes down at Maghrib, 5:50 pm, and the day ends with Isha at 7:20 pm. That gives Manaus roughly 12 hours and 13 minutes of daylight today.

Lining up with the Kaaba

From this city the direction is east-north-east, or 69° if you prefer the number. That puts the Kaaba roughly 11,153 km — 6,930 miles — from here. Worth remembering that a phone compass points to magnetic north, which can sit several degrees off true north depending on where you are.

Season by season in Manaus

Near the equator the timetable is remarkably stable. Manaus sees close to twelve hours of daylight in every month, so Fajr and Maghrib move by minutes rather than hours across the year.
