Prayer Times in Bonita, United States

What these times mean for Bonita

Every time on this page traces back to one pair of numbers: 32.67° N, 117.03° W, the position of Bonita itself. Two towns an hour apart see the sun rise at different moments, and since Fajr and Maghrib follow the sun rather than the clock, those minutes carry straight through to the timetable.

Where these times come from

The underlying method is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Where two calculations disagree it is nearly always Fajr or Isha: those depend on twilight, and twilight is a judgement call. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. Local practice wins over any website, this one included.

Lining up with the Kaaba

The qibla from here runs north-north-east, a bearing of about 25°. Makkah is around 13,517 kilometres (8,399 miles) away in a straight line. Worth remembering that a phone compass points to magnetic north, which can sit several degrees off true north depending on where you are.

The fasting day in Bonita

The fasting day here runs 5:38 am to 6:00 pm: suhoor closes at the first, iftar comes at the second. Today it works out to some 12 hours and 22 minutes. The full month is listed below if you want to see where the fast is heading.

A quirk of the timezone

True midday in Bonita arrives some 32 minutes after what the clock reads. Hence Dhuhr at 12:32 pm, with the rest of the afternoon following along behind it. Nothing is wrong with the calculation; timezones are political lines, and the sun does not consult them.

Through the year

The seasons show here without dominating. Summer in Bonita brings earlier Fajr times and a later Isha; winter pulls everything inward, and Maghrib can arrive while the afternoon still feels unfinished. Expect an hour or two of movement between the extremes.

Elsewhere in United States

There are 105 more United States cities here, and each has its own times rather than sharing Bonita's. It is worth switching to the right one when you travel — a few hundred kilometres east or west moves Fajr and Maghrib by a noticeable margin.

Today's timetable

The day's first prayer, Fajr, falls at 5:38 am. By 7:03 am the sun is up and Fajr's time has passed. Dhuhr 12:32 pm, Asr 4:22 pm — the two that carry the middle of the day. Maghrib comes with sunset at 6:00 pm, and Isha closes the day at 7:30 pm. Around 10 hours and 57 minutes of daylight, all told.

For tahajjud

Bonita gets roughly 10 hours and 8 minutes of night between the last prayer and the first. If you pray tahajjud, the final third of that stretch is the one to aim for; counting backwards from Fajr is the easier way to locate it.

A few things worth knowing

No need to bookmark a timetable: the page recalculates for Bonita daily.
