Prayer Times in Eagle Point, United States

Eagle Point, hour by hour

There is no national timetable behind this page — Eagle Point's times come from Eagle Point's own position, 42.47° N, 122.80° W. It is a small distinction that matters in practice: the sun does not arrive everywhere in a country at once.

A note on the method used

The underlying method is Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Where two calculations disagree it is nearly always Fajr or Isha: those depend on twilight, and twilight is a judgement call. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. Local practice wins over any website, this one included.

Ramadan timings

The fasting day here runs 6:05 am to 6:07 pm: suhoor closes at the first, iftar comes at the second. Today it works out to some 12 hours and 2 minutes. Scroll to the month view to see how the length changes as Ramadan progresses.

Through the year

Summer and winter look like different timetables entirely in Eagle Point. The times can shift by several hours between the two ends of the year.

How the day runs in Eagle Point

Fajr opens the day at 6:05 am, well before first light. By 7:42 am the sun is up and Fajr's time has passed. Dhuhr 12:55 pm, Asr 4:24 pm — the two that carry the middle of the day. Maghrib comes with sunset at 6:07 pm, and Isha closes the day at 7:37 pm. Around 10 hours and 25 minutes of daylight, all told.

Other United States timetables

105 other cities in United States are listed on this site, each with its own calculated timetable. It is worth switching to the right one when you travel — a few hundred kilometres east or west moves Fajr and Maghrib by a noticeable margin.

A quirk of the timezone

Solar noon in Eagle Point falls about 55 minutes after twelve o'clock. It explains the 12:55 pm Dhuhr — the timezone boundary is drawn some way from this city's own meridian. This catches people out regularly, but prayer follows the sun, and the clock is only the label we put on it.

Lining up with the Kaaba

The qibla from here runs north-north-east, a bearing of about 18°. That puts the Kaaba roughly 12,690 km — 7,885 miles — from here. Compass apps usually read magnetic north rather than true north, so allow a few degrees of local declination if you are setting a prayer mat precisely.
