Prayer Times in Fort Madison, United States

Praying in Fort Madison

These are Fort Madison's own prayer times, not a regional approximation — they come from the coordinates 40.62° N, 91.35° W. It is a small distinction that matters in practice: the sun does not arrive everywhere in a country at once.

The last third of the night

From Isha to Fajr is around 10 hours and 24 minutes at the moment. The final third of the night carries particular weight in the tradition, and it is measured from Isha to Fajr rather than by the clock.

What changes between summer and winter

Fort Madison sees a large seasonal spread — very early summer Fajr times, a very late Isha, then a tightly packed winter day. The month view below is the reliable way to keep track.

Fasting hours

Suhoor ends at Fajr — 5:58 am today — and the fast breaks at Maghrib, 6:04 pm. Around 12 hours and 6 minutes without food or water today. The full month is listed below if you want to see where the fast is heading.

Fort Madison today, prayer by prayer

The first call comes at 5:58 am, for Fajr. By 7:33 am the sun is up and Fajr's time has passed. Midday brings Dhuhr at 12:49 pm; Asr comes round at 4:23 pm. Sunset brings Maghrib at 6:04 pm; Isha is the last, at 7:34 pm. That is some 10 hours and 31 minutes between the sun coming up and going down.

How the times are worked out

These times follow Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Dhuhr, Asr and Maghrib are largely settled across methods; Fajr and Isha are where authorities part company. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. A small gap between this page and your nearest masjid is nothing to worry about; go with theirs.

Clock time and solar time

The sun reaches its high point roughly 49 minutes after noon here. That is why Dhuhr sits at 12:49 pm rather than just past midday, and it carries through to Asr, Maghrib and Isha as well. It is not an error — timezones are drawn for administrative convenience, not astronomical accuracy.
