Prayer times in Clayton

The night in Clayton runs about 10 hours and 20 minutes at the moment — Isha at 7:32 pm to Fajr at 5:52 am. The whole timetable below follows the same movement — as the nights lengthen, every time on the page moves with them.

If you are fasting

Stop eating by 5:52 am; break the fast at 6:02 pm. That is about 12 hours and 10 minutes on today's times. The full month is listed below if you want to see where the fast is heading.

Where these times come from

Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah is the standard applied to this page. The disagreement between methods lives almost entirely in Fajr and Isha, where the sun is below the horizon and the chosen angle decides the time. Asr is Hanafi on this page, so expect it later than a Shafi timetable would show. If the mosque down the road announces something a few minutes different, pray with the mosque.

Qibla from Clayton

Turn east-north-east, about 58°, for the qibla. That puts the Kaaba roughly 10,445 km — 6,490 miles — from here. Worth remembering that a phone compass points to magnetic north, which can sit several degrees off true north depending on where you are.

Clayton today, prayer by prayer

Why Dhuhr lands where it does

True midday in Clayton arrives some 44 minutes after what the clock reads. It explains the 12:44 pm Dhuhr — the timezone boundary is drawn some way from this city's own meridian. It is not an error — timezones are drawn for administrative convenience, not astronomical accuracy.
