Prayer Times in Fallsburg, United States

Praying in Fallsburg

There are around 10 hours and 27 minutes between Isha and Fajr in Fallsburg just now. That span is what the last third of the night is measured against, so it shifts along with the rest of the timetable through the year.

Lining up with the Kaaba

The qibla from here runs east-north-east, a bearing of about 58°. The distance works out to about 10,289 kilometres, or 6,393 miles. Compass apps usually read magnetic north rather than true north, so allow a few degrees of local declination if you are setting a prayer mat precisely.

Where these times come from

Calculations come from Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Where two calculations disagree it is nearly always Fajr or Isha: those depend on twilight, and twilight is a judgement call. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. Local practice wins over any website, this one included.

A quirk of the timezone

Solar noon in Fallsburg falls about 42 minutes after twelve o'clock. Hence Dhuhr at 12:42 pm, with the rest of the afternoon following along behind it. It is not an error — timezones are drawn for administrative convenience, not astronomical accuracy.
