Prayer Times in Denver, United States

Denver, hour by hour

There are around 10 hours and 22 minutes between Isha and Fajr in Denver just now. That span is what the last third of the night is measured against, so it shifts along with the rest of the timetable through the year.

Through the year

The yearly swing here is substantial. In June, Fajr in Denver can fall in the small hours with Isha holding off until late evening; in December the whole day from Fajr to Isha is over in a short span. Check the monthly timetable rather than assuming last season's times still hold.

Lining up with the Kaaba

The qibla from here runs north-east, a bearing of about 35°. That puts the Kaaba roughly 12,289 km — 7,636 miles — from here.

If you are fasting

The fasting day here runs 5:52 am to 6:00 pm: suhoor closes at the first, iftar comes at the second. Today it works out to some 12 hours and 8 minutes. The full month is listed below if you want to see where the fast is heading.

Clock time and solar time

The sun reaches its high point roughly 43 minutes after noon here. That is why Dhuhr sits at 12:43 pm rather than just past midday, and it carries through to Asr, Maghrib and Isha as well. Nothing is wrong with the calculation; timezones are political lines, and the sun does not consult them.

Today's timetable

Fajr opens the day at 5:52 am, well before first light. The sun appears at 7:26 am, which ends the Fajr period. Next is Dhuhr at 12:43 pm, then Asr in the afternoon at 4:19 pm. Maghrib comes with sunset at 6:00 pm, and Isha closes the day at 7:30 pm. Around 10 hours and 34 minutes of daylight, all told.

Why your mosque may differ slightly

Calculations come from Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. Where two calculations disagree it is nearly always Fajr or Isha: those depend on twilight, and twilight is a judgement call. For Asr this page uses the Hanafi position — later in the day than the majority view. Local practice wins over any website, this one included.

The last third of the night

From Isha to Fajr is around 10 hours and 22 minutes at the moment. The final third of the night carries particular weight in the tradition, and it is measured from Isha to Fajr rather than by the clock.
